A Minecraft 3DS Modding Direct presentation is in the works. Segments to look forward to include Zexlo's adaptation of the Origins mod and an unknown project from Cracko298.
Cracko298 has released a teaser trailer for the aforementioned project.

Modder wyndchyme has released the Autumnal texture mod, made at the request of child4782 in the community Discord server.
As a Christmas gift to the community, Cracko298 has announced he is porting "The Jenny Dweller" to Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition.

As a proof-of-concept of the capabilities of his MC3DS-AnimationSuite, modder Cracko298 is working on a mod that generates a structure with a working television that plays a short animation.

Mega3DS has moved! Minecraft 3DS modding news, tools, and other resources can now be found on wyndchyme.github.io.
A new Minecraft 3DS Community multiplayer Java Edition server is in the works, with a server vote having selected Java Edition 1.21 as the version that the server is planned to be on.

Modder Cracko298 believes he has found a way to add custom entities without the requirement of a decompiled code.bin.
Cracko298 has also made significant progress in developing his MC3DS-WorldManager CIA tool.

Newcomer Mellow is working on an 8x8 texture pack!
Modder bomba.cat has continued to investigate the game's shaders and has potentially uncovered new ways of optimizing the game. He has also developed a sort of x-ray shader specifically for entities, including block entities like chests.
Modder SeveringHams, leader of the Team Proteus modding group, is discussing transferring ownership of the Team Proteus Unistore to another maintainer, as part of a potential shift away from modding by Team Proteus.

Modder Cracko298 has implemented pivots in his MC3DS-Model-Editor, to be included in a forthcoming update.
Update: Cracko298 is now working on a port of the Creaking mob, as a demonstration of the new model editing capabilities.
Modder Cracko298 has said that version 0.8 of his MC3DS-Model-Editor is planned to add "plugin support, themes and a few other bug fixes."

Modder STBUniverse has completed their rewrite of their JSON to BJSON Python module, which makes models easier than ever!
Modder Cracko298 has updated his MC3DS-Model-Editor to version 0.7, which adds the aforementioned rewritten Python module by STBUniverse along with some other additions.

Modder Anonymous941 has been working on a partial decompilation of code.bin over the past few days - he is planning to release the few fragments that he has decompiled as it has the potential to be helpful to the modding community. This will be the first publically avaliable decompilation of code.bin.

Modder STBUniverse has shared that it is now possible to convert JSON files to the BJSON format (with limitations,) which allows adding additional geometry to entity models.
The Mega3DS GitHub organization and news website has been created after a request by ethan0587 for a modding news website.
